Jambi Province Himpsi Values Stopping Coal Transportation Activities Has a Psychological Impact on Drivers

SeeJambi - According to Himpsi Jambi Province, the local government's policy on stopping coal transportation activities has a psychological impact on drivers.

Representative of the Indonesian Psychological Association or Jambi Province Himpsi Novrans Eka Saputra said coal transportation activities were temporarily suspended, in fact it would put a psychological burden on truck drivers, Sunday (4/12).

"If there are appeals and policies from the government to coal truck drivers, it is clear that their psychological, physical and financial burden will increase," said the Jambi Province Himpsi representative.

It is known that the Government has made several temporary stops and was recently officially issued by the Jambi regional police (Polda) on Monday 21 November 2022, namely that all coal transportation is only allowed at the mouth of the mine until the Bulian – Tembesi road repairs are completed.

Furthermore, there are actually positive and negative things that drivers get.

Positively, one can think of looking for other alternative jobs that provide opportunities for drivers to reduce the psychosocial impact that has occurred so far on themselves.

Novrans explained that psychosocial hazard is one of the hazards in the workplace that can have a direct or indirect impact on the safety and health of drivers when delivering coal.

"The government should also supervise related companies regarding this matter by adopting strict policies to reduce the psychosocial impact on coal truck drivers," he concluded. ***
