PMI City of Jambi Distribution of Clean Water to Communities Affected by the Water Crisis

SeeJambi - The Indonesian Red Cross or PMI Jambi City is distributing clean water to the people of the Seberang City of Jambi area.

In this clean water distribution, PMI City of Jambi focused on the affected areas due to the cut off of the water supply from Perumda Tirta Mayang City of Jambi because the pompo equipment was stolen.

PMI Jambi City has distributed clean water to the Arab Melayu Village and Tengah Village, Pelayangan District, Jambi City.

This water distribution has been carried out from November 29 to December 1, 2022.

PMI Jambi City Daily Chairperson M Yamin said the clean water crisis in the area had a major impact on the community's daily needs. Especially for cooking and drinking.

"Water is a basic need for the community in the household. Because water from Perumda has not flowed which has been in the area for a week due to an accident or a pump owned by Perumda Tirta Mayang which was stolen, we PMI Jambi City immediately sent clean water assistance to the community," said M Yamin, Thursday (01/12/22).

Yamin hopes that the distribution of clean water from PMI Jambi City can help the community before Perumda's water flow returns.

"Hopefully our assistance can help people who are affected and really need it," he concluded.

It is known that the missing equipment stolen was in the form of a pump cable and a water meter.

The disaster affected 3,200 customers or 16 people in Danau Teluk District and Serving District.

According to information from residents during the distribution of clean water in the Arab Melayu sub-district, the water was already flowing in several areas. ***
