Seeing the Tourism Potential in Jambi Province

SeeJambi - Jambi Province has great tourism potential to be developed in attracting tourists from all corners of the world.

Especially in terms of natural tourism, Jambi Province has Geopark Merangin, Mount Kerinci, Alam Kerinci, 7 Kerinci Mountain Lakes, 4 National Parks and Cemara Beach on Jambi's East Coast which is a place for migratory birds in the world. And many more.

In addition, Jambi Province also has a very promising historical tourism, namely the Muaro Jambi Temple complex.

If maximized, the tourism potential is expected to contribute to increasing regional development.

From the tourism sector, it can have an economic impact on the local community if seriously encouraged.

Now, efforts to develop tourism have been planned and included in the 2021-2026 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for Jambi Province.

The strategy of the Jambi Provincial Government in increasing the role of the tourism sector as well as small and medium industries supporting tourism as contained in the 2021-2026 RPJMD include:

- Synergizing BUMD businesses with MSMEs in terms of production and marketing.

- Strengthening cooperative institutions and marketing centers for MSME products.

- Jambi Province Support for e-business facilities for home industry, tourism and creative economy businesses.

- Development of local community-based tourism objects and destinations.

- Building digital marketing for MSME products and facilitating access to banking.

- Encouraging the acceleration of the development of the Muaro Jambi bathing tourism area and the Merangin geopark as world tourist destinations.

- Facilitating the holding of national/international scale cultural arts events
involving districts/cities.

- Revitalization and facilitation of leading tourist objects in inner districts/cities
Jambi Province.

- Building ecotourism
based on environmental services by taking into account the carrying capacity and capacity of the area.

"Kerinci has great potential, especially Kayu Aro. People have not been told to go to Kerinci if they don't visit the Kayu Aro Tea Plantation. This is a very extraordinary regional potential and must be developed by the regional government," added a member of the Jambi Provincial DPRD Dapil Kerinci-Sungai Full that.

Both are minuses. People who visit Kerinci will tell friends, family and others.

"What he caught while traveling will be told to others. For example, the roads are bad, then traffic jams, prone to landslides, the people are not friendly. That is a minus. This means that this also has an impact on tourist visits. People who experience unpleasant events while traveling must be they won't be coming back."

"Third is zero (zero). So the one who travels, then returns home is still one. He doesn't tell other people about the incident, he just keeps quiet. Of course the point we have to pursue is the first, namely Plus. How do we concoct tourism in Jambi Province comfortable, the facilities are good, so people are memorable when visiting. Tourists want to spend money, if they are faced with congested road conditions due to coal trucks, who wants to come," he added.

Sudria said, apart from improving the condition of the existing infrastructure, the government must also cooperate with other provinces such as West Sumatra.

Because there are also many tourist visits to Kerinci via West Sumatra.

"We also ask for strengthening the position of Muaro Bungo Airport. Because people who want to go to Kerinci from Jakarta can only go through Bungo Airport. If we rely on the existing airport (Depati Parbo) it is very small," he concluded. ****
